First Round Table of 2023 was a Success

This is a great start working with the Town to put together ideas on how to improve our Town’s image and encourage business opportunities to improve our tourist industry and quality of services for residents. But there is so much that can be done in the meantime to improve the experience for our tourists by simply having businesses and the accommodation owners form a liaison similar to a BIA.(business improvement assoc). In some cases there may be grants out there they can apply for. We want to encourage longer stays by attracting families vs day trippers and you can do this by making it easier for them to enjoy the whole experience. Tourists don’t know where to go as we are spread out so far. Make it easy. Marketing and cooperation is the key to all of this and if it is successful it will attract investment in Wasaga Beach adding more amenities like restaurants , new business opportunities and accommodations (hotel) while we go through the transition of our Beachfront development.

Let’s start by….

· Encouraging cabin courts and motels to improve their accommodations and facades.

· Businesses could offer coupons to the accommodation owners to attract families( for example a family discount at restaurants, paint ball, go garts, mini golf, ice cream parlours, etc) when they stay at their resorts.

· Town should market our resources, walking and hiking trails, sun sets, dunes , summer concert series and events outside areas ie attend trade shows in Toronto, etc.

· Encourage By-law to go after and Clean up eyesores around Town

And I am sure there are many more ideas out there .......

Working myself in the new home industry for over 20 years here I always sold people first on the beauty of Wasaga Beach, a little piece of paradise with beautiful sunsets, 2000 acres of trails, the longest fresh water beach in the world, 240 species of birds in Blueberry trails and wildlife , the friendly people and after that, the rest was easy.

Have a great day.

Cheers
