BRINGING THE FILM INDUSTRY TO WASAGA BEACH!

There’s a new initiative in town! The Wasaga Business and Tourism Association (BTA) has been making waves in the film industry as it relates to local area businesses and residents.

The Wasaga BTA is setting the stage for attracting the film industry to our town! The Town of Wasaga Beach, along with our neighbours, Clearview, Collingwood, the Town of The Blue Mountains, and Meaford, are creating a local and comprehensive approach to film production opportunities.

This regional strategy aims to highlight the area's diverse locations, from scenic beaches to historic sites, making it an attractive destination for film productions.

Our objective is to increase economic opportunities for the businesses in Wasaga Beach by making it a year-round initiative, drawing on new opportunities during the ‘off’ season to fill the hopper for our local businesses and even our residents.

The FilmWasaga.ca website, has been developed by the BTA and will house a database to be used to promote our film-friendly businesses and residents of Wasaga Beach.

This will provide new business opportunities in these areas:

●        Business and residential locations

Opportunities are vast! Imagine different genres. Anything can be transformed. For example, our Town of Wasaga Beach Council’s Chamber can be transformed into a courthouse. Visualize not only romance movies but also comedy, thrillers and horror movies. Location is key to any of these types of settings, and our town has a lot to offer.

Extras, musicians, talent agencies, and more

●        Trades

Hairdressers, makeup artists, catering, transportation, wardrobe, accommodations, graphic designers/media, photographers, florists, audio and visual, food services, electricians/lighting, set designers/builders/ carpenters, production houses, sound studios, photographers, and more
